Giving your android jellybean the look of android kitkat hasn’t been so easier.
I am going to take you on a step by step procedure for making your android jellybean look like android kitkat.
Below is the screenshot of the homepage of my android phone:
It looks beautiful right? Can you guess what android version I could be using?
Kitkat right? You can notice the transparent status bar, navigation bar on screen,Kitkat icons,Kitkat clock, side bar, all the eye catching features of android Kitkat UI.
Well it may surprise you to discover that I am using android 4.2 jellybean, yet I still have all the eye catching physical beauties android Kitkat comes with.
I did NOT install any custom ROM ,I am still using the stock ROM that came with the phone, only that I Did some tweaking to improve the stock ROM appearance and performance.
What is a ROM? This is the part of your phone memory that is write-protected I.e an outside source cannot easily alter information on it,and this is where the custom ROM is installed and It’s a customized version of the OS. Google the rest.
Let’s get to business.
1)A rooted android jellybean smartphone. (Google how to root your phone model with framaroot, If framaroot doesn’t work for your phone model,Google other methods of rooting your phone model)
2)Xposed framework installed on your rooted phone and granted super user permission for the "Xposed" application. Click on the first installation option in the framework and reboot your phone.
3)GravityBox(JB) installed. After Which you will activate the module of GravityBox(JB) on the Xposed framework.
After everything is set and done,we move on to the next stage of being the true owner of our android phones.
Note: you have to reboot your phone whenever prompted to do So and always Grant super user permission whenever asked also.
After rebooting your phone, ensure that you have activated the module for GravityBox before launching the application.
On opening GravityBox click on transparency management after Which you would see something like this below:
Increase the transparency of both status bar and navigation bar to their maximum after selecting "both" on the transparency mode.
Then reboot your phone. You would notice a transparent status bar and an on screen navigation bar Which improves the looks of your phone after you reboot it.
You can play with other things on the GravityBox applications,to further improve the look of your phone to your own taste.
Download and install kk launcher,It’s a great launcher If you want your phone to boot up more quickly and to further imitate the Kitkat android version.
If you have any question or doubt, post it as a comment below.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any damage caused by the misuse or mishandling of any of the above applications on your phone.
Note:this method of tweaking your android phone is much more safer than actually installing a custom ROM on your phone, because this method doesn’t mess with the file system of your phone but simply inject codes in the right places to change some properties of your system UI.
